Golden Living Room is the alter ego of Joel Cachero, and his discography is so expansive and unique that he was already becoming a major name in the vaporwave community when we first collaborated on a release in 2013 (Plug In, Drop Out in coordination with STYLSS). Since that time, we've worked together on release after release, and I've gotten to witness the power of these online musical subcultures, as multiple runs of GLR's cassettes have sold out time and again. His music is contemplative and playful, but also deeply complex - there's a playfulness to the whole thing, and it leads to new discoveries on each listen. Cachero is a very talented multi-instrumentalist, and these compositions span those talents, from sampling to building synths, guitars that chime like marimbas and beats that lurk on the murky edge of it all.
