Two extremely excellent albums are going up for preorder / download today, and I’m particularly stoked about the both of them. One is a long overdue release from a legendary Twin Cities punk band, and the other is a new release from Kansas City skrammers who are just getting ready to head out on another tour. Let’s jump right in, shall we?
FALCON CREST has been one of my favorite loud bands of all time for well over a decade, and their membership are all people who have been great friends and performed in tons of other fantastic bands. I can’t really explain how excellent it is to hear their final recording – they are a band that has brought a lot of joy to my life, and it’s music that reminds me of the genuine friendship that can grow between independent musicians. Not to get real sappy about it, but it’s really a rare opportunity to release an album like this – and I’m quite thrilled that the task has fallen to me! It was tracked by Neil Weir at Old Blackberry Way (now renamed as Blue Bell Knoll Studios) back in 2010, and it’s a absolute ripper from beginning to end. I am really honored to be able to bring this album to you guys – FALCON CREST were no joke, and I feel blessed to be chosen to release their final jams. The album will be officially released on June 11th, when they reunite to perform at the TURF CLUB with STNNNG and other choice bands, but we’re giving y’all who can’t make it a few weeks to download and preorder the record, so we may all bask in the glory of the CREST. You can head over HERE to preorder a copy, and it can be downloaded for free HERE via the TAHRC Bandcamp.
In the same sense, Kansas City’s BLUEHEALER are equally ripping, and are releasing their first demo recording on TAHRC. They’re assembled from other KC hardcore royalty (BATTLE ROYALE, BUMMER, etc.) and if you’re attentive, you’ll get a chance to see them come cruising through your town on their upcoming tour. They perform here in Wichita at the LULU HOUSE OF DOOM on May 24th, so if you’re a local cat, don’t sleep on it and come witness the spectacle, along with sets from LIVING GHOST and DOMESTIC DRONE (more information on that show can be seen HERE). They’re simultaneously tight and loose, bringing up CITY OF CATERPILLAR type heavy slop in a totally TEN GRAND tight-and fast sorta way. Their album will be available as soon as their tour begins, and there’s a limited supply, so grab one HERE on the preorder tip if you gotta have it. Stream the entire jam below:
Huge thanks to Brandon Onward and Dakota Shipp respectively for getting these two releases ready to go – I’m really overjoyed to be working on music that such great friends have produced.
